Frame Running (RaceRunning) makes running possible for people with moderate-to-severe mobility limitations. This three-wheeled frame (see picture) can be used for physical activity in recreation and sports. Using a survey design including 115 people aged 5 to 62, we found that the majority of athletes taking part in Frame Running perceived positive effects on outcome such as fitness, mobility and self-confidence. We believe that the findings of this study provide support for stakeholders such as medical and allied health professionals, (para) athletics coaches, physical education teachers and potential athletes and their families who are considering undertaking or promoting Frame Running. | | | | | | | | Editors' Choice JRM-CC

As physiotherapists and sports therapists we stand for renewal and innovation, and are convinced of functional training methods. We have developed a training method, in which mainly the resistance training is formed in a unique concept, including a high intensity component. To investigate whether this new concept is actually feasible, and to further develop and improve this training method, we set up this pilot study. We hope to inspire other therapists, and contribute in scientific research. | | | | | | | | Further Highlighted Articles
